Not far at all from McHenry and well worth it. Even after an intense session, I still can't wait to come back. The family vibe, encouragement, and laughs all make it a fun time to sweat your ass off. I can already feel improvement! Thank you!

We're here 4-5 days a week, whether it be kettlebells, kids MMA, adult MMA or self defense. Must be a good place because I really HATE kettlebells. Yet I keep coming back for more; 3x a week to train with those wretched bells. Results can't be faked and the welcome you feel here can't be duplicated.

Recently started going here for the kettle ball classes, and I have absolutely no complaints! The whole gym is a very friendly environment and the instructors are so helpful, they help you through the exercises whenever they see you struggling. I never felt judged there and everyone that goes are also very friendly. I would highly recommend!!

I started at TMMA 2 years ago by asking if I could do their workouts while having a lot of injuries, (feet, knees, shoulder, back) expected them to say no. To my surprise they said " I could even do the workout in a chair", which I have done on occasion. Tony and Jennie are the best at modifying exercising and being super supportive. So happy I found Tactical Mixed Martial Arts. They're the best part of my day!

If you are looking for a safe, accepting place to start working out with people who genuinely care about their clients and will modify any exercise to fit your needs, TMMA is the place. I went from couch potato to working out and eating healthier with the assistance of their nutrition expert Lora. You get out of it what you put in and I’ve lost about 50 pounds in about 8 months and that doesn’t include the muscle I’ve gained 🙂

By studying a large variety of martial arts it has given him the ability to draw out the most effective techniques for every day, practical, self defense for people of all genders, size, and age.

Jennifer Jones

Jennie is a former athlete. While she did not study Martial Arts growing up, she did various sports and even made the Junior Olympics qualifications in swimming. Her competitive nature and passion for sports and athletics taught her the importance of discipline. This understanding has carried through in many areas of her life from raising 2 daughters, to building a business alongside her husband, and currently includes teaching Kettlebells and training in tactical mixed martial arts.

After a hiatus from fitness and sports in order to raise a family, Ms. Jennie found herself extremely overweight and out of shape. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2009 and underwent major surgery, chemotherapy & radiation. After completing treatments, Ms. Jennie didn't even have the strength to walk a block without getting winded and have to stop. This is when she decided enough was enough and began to get back to the athlete she had once been. Over the course of these past 5 years, Ms. Jennie has dropped 100 pounds and gained mobility. She attests this healthy transformation to kettlebells and training martial arts. She is currently an assistant instructor who helps to teach martial arts for kids at Tactical Mixed Martial Arts under the instruction of her husband, Sensei Tony Jones.
